CQU INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP

CQU International Student Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship presented to incoming international students at Central Queensland University (CQU). Students who want to pursue any UG and PG programs offered by CQU are eligible. The COQ International Student Scholarship is available to all new international students in vocational, research, full degree and English packaged with academic courses. There is no minimum GPA to receive this scholarship. If you have completed your most recent studies and are commencing your course at CQUni as a new student, you will be automatically considered for the scholarship and receive a 25% reduction in your course fee. Eligibility

  1. Applicants who have successfully completed their most recent studies with: a. A minimum overall grade average of 65% or equivalent; OR Minimum GPA of 4.9 (7-point scale); OR b. Minimum GPA of 2.6 (4-point scale with a minimum pass of 2). ​​​​​​​2. The International Student Scholarship is awarded, at the discretion of the University, to exceptional international students, undertaking on-campus, full-time degree study at CQUniversity Australia.
  2. The International Student Scholarship is only available to students applying for vocational, research, full degree and packaged academic course.
  3. The International Student Scholarship is only available to students new to CQUniversity Australia OR to CQUniversity students who have completed a CQUniversity qualification at Diploma, Undergraduate, postgraduate coursework level and applying to commence another qualification at CQUniversity if they meet the minimum eligibility criteria.
  4. The International Student Scholarship is not available to students who are currently studying at CQUniversity Australia and applying for Change of Course. These students will not be eligible for the International Student Scholarship.
  5. The International Student Scholarship is not available with any other CQUniversity Australia scholarship.
  6. The International Student Scholarship is not available to any student who has been given entrance to CQUniversity Australia solely based on work experience.
  7. The International Student Scholarship is not transferable to a third party or redeemable for cash.
  8. The International Student Scholarship is calculated and applied on a per term basis.

Application

No Separate Application or Fee is Required to get the grants, it will be automatically considered, once you enrolled for the program.

  1. Applicants who want to secure CQU International Student Scholarship must apply along with the admission application for respective courses
  2. You must apply for the International Student Scholarship when you apply for your vocational, research, full degree or packaged academic course at the same time through our online system iStart.
  3. You will be able to monitor the status and outcome of your application through iStart. The following documents are to be attached along with the form:

  5. Letter of recommendation.

Selection process

  1. The selection for the CQU International Student Scholarship is based on academic performance and other qualities like leadership.
  2. The decision is made by the CQUniversity’s Vice-Chancellor and respective faculty members.
  3. Students will be able to check the status and outcome of the application on iStart. Other Info Term and Condition- The International Student Scholarship will discontinue if the student named on the Letter of Offer: ​​​​​​​a. has overdue tuition fees and/or outstanding debts after census date of each term if there is no approved payment plan in place; b. has a MAP 3 condition on their enrolment. c. graduates from their nominated course; or cancels their enrolment, or has their enrolment cancelled at CQUniversity Australia.
  4. As per the refund policy, refund amounts payable to international students may be adjusted to include the recouping of waived published fees such as the repayment of any international student scholarships in accordance with the terms and conditions of those scholarships.
  5. If an international student cancels their studies at CQUniversity prior to the completion of their studies as per their Letter of Offer and COE and/or, if an international student transfers to a different Education Provider, the international student must repay the International Student Scholarship fees for each term that was completed. Fees owing may be deducted from any refund that is payable by the University or an invoice for the amount of Scholarship deducted for each relevant term prior to the request for cancellation will be sent to the student for payment.
  6. The International Student Scholarship may be withdrawn with 10 days’ written notice,should the recipient breach any of these terms and conditions.
  7. The International Student Scholarship and the International Student Scholarship – Regional is not available to international students undertaking the Bachelor of Aviation (Commercial Pilot) and stand-alone Graduate Certificate level courses (if not packaged with a full degreecourse). APPEALS ​​​​​​​1. There is no right of appeal should the applicant be unsuccessful in securing a scholarship or has their scholarship withdrawn.
  8. The terms and conditions may be changed at any time and the University will provide 20 working days’ written notice to all current International Student Scholarship recipients. Students who are uncertain about any of the terms and conditions, are encouraged to speak to the Student Experience team at their campus.
