COMMONWEALTH SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME NEW ZEALAND
New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarship, also known as the New Zealand Scholarships for International Students, is a scholarship programme offered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade(MFAT), Government of New Zealand. The scholarship programme was introduced in partnership with the Ministry of Human Resource Development(Government of India). The main purpose of this program is to support the education of students from commonwealth countries, including Indian students pursuing master’s degrees and postgraduate studies. It covers most of the expenses of studying abroad for students looking to pursue master’s or PhD from reputed New Zealand universities in specific academic areas. Eligibility
- Applicants should have completed Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree with a minimum of 65% marks for a Master's or Ph.D. respectively.
- Candidates who have already been abroad for studies/training/ specialization either on scholarships or on their own, for a period exceeding six months are eligible to apply if they have been in India for at least two consecutive years after returning from abroad as of the date specified in the public notice.
- Application of candidates who are already abroad is not considered.
- Applicants are required to produce a letter of offer from a New Zealand university at the time of the interview. However, it is not required at the time of making an application. The list of participating universities is provided in the public notice.
- Students must be 39 years old or younger.
- Applicants who have spent more than six months abroad for training, research, or study on a scholarship or their own can apply for this award only if they have lived. After returning from abroad, you must stay in India for at least two years.

- Home leave or reunion travel for some scholars
- Assistance with research and thesis costs for many postgraduate research students. Only two applications were nominated for a scholarship award out of the total number of applications to the MHRD.

Selection process
