CHALMERS IPOET SCHOLARSHIP

Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, is offering 35 Chalmers IPOET scholarships. International students applying to any Master’s program are eligible to apply for the scholarship, which gives them a fee waiver of 75% of the tuition fees. ​​​​​​​1. Scholarships are awarded to those of excellent academic record, keeping in mind the stature of their home university. 2. There is no restriction regarding the field of study for the Chalmers IPOET Scholarship. 3. All incoming international students commencing studies at Chalmers University of Technology are eligible. 4. Chalmers IPOET Scholarship is a non-renewable funding program. Eligibility

  1. Citizens from non-EU/EEA countries who are required to pay tuition fees for Swedish university education.
  2. 1st year Master’s Programme applicants.

  1. A 75% reduction of the tuition fees (4 semesters/2 year programme).
  2. Students who excel during their first year of studies may receive an increased reduction, which covers 85% of the tuition fees during the second and final year of studies.

Application

No Separate Application or Fee is Required to get the grants, it will be automatically considered, once you enrolled for the program. Students are to first Apply for admission at Chalmers University of Technology for the Masters program(s) of their choice after checking the eligibility criteria, and pay the application fee. Post that, a scholarship application has to be submitted:

  1. The scholarship application must be made from the same email address used to register for the Masters's program.
  2. You will have received an 8-digit application number at hand from applying to the Masters's program, which you will have to use as your User ID while starting the scholarship application.
  3. All data that you submit in this application must be verified with the documents you provided in the Master's application form, and the verification code will be sent to your email. For further details, please click here.

Selection process

Recipients of the scholarship are generally selected and notified between March and May. Chalmers IPOET scholars are selected on the basis of:

  1. The selection is based on the applicants' relative academic excellence, which primarily includes weighted average grade (at least 80%) but also home university's stature (including position on global ranking lists) and priority order of the application for Chalmers Master's programmes.
  2. Position of your home university on global ranking lists.
  3. Priority given to Chalmer in the Masters application form. Once notified, the recipients have to confirm and accept the offer. Other Info Term and Condition-
  4. Scholarships will be awarded in the form of a reduction of the tuition fee.
  5. An offer of a scholarship is only valid for the academic year and programme stipulated in the Scholarship Award Decision made by the Vice President for Undergraduate and Master’s Education. The Scholarship Awardee is notified of this decision in the Scholarship Award Notification. If the student is granted deferment until the next academic year, the offer of a scholarship is voided.
  6. If a Scholarship Awardee transfers to another programme, the Scholarship Award Decision will be reassessed.
  7. The offer of a scholarship comprises a tuition fee reduction for a maximum of 120 credits (hp) on the Master’s Programme stipulated in the Scholarship Award Notification. When the scholarship awardee fulfils the degree requirements for their Master’s Programme he/she is not entitled to utilize the scholarship for additional courses.
  8. For Scholarship Awardees who have conducted exchange studies at Chalmers and who are able to utilize the credits from said exchange in their Master’s Programme, the scholarship entails a reduction of the tuition fee for the remaining credits needed to fulfil the degree requirements.
  9. If a scholarship only covers part of the tuition fee, the student must pay the remainder of the fee by the payment deadline.
  10. Scholarship Awardees are entitled to retain their scholarship if they have applied for and been permitted to take a temporary leave from their studies. The Scholarship Awardee will however forfeit the scholarship if the academic leave of absence exceeds one year.
  11. The scholarship application deadline conventionally coincides with the application deadline for Master’s Programmes. Applicants must apply for scholarships on time in order to be considered for a scholarship.
  12. Applicants who are awarded a scholarship, but who are not granted a Visa from the Migration Board will lose their offer of a scholarship.
  13. Applicants who are awarded a scholarship other than Avancez, Adlerbert Study Scholarships, IPOET and Chalmers MasterCard are not automatically entitled to retain their scholarship during exchange- or a temporary leave from their studies, as such decisions are made on a case by case basis, in consultation with the external donor.
  14. Scholarship Awardees who change their tuition fee status to fee exempt will forfeit the tuition fee reduction/waiver part of the scholarship. Meanwhile, the scholarship awardee will retain any other benefits included in his/her scholarship (e.g. internship, summer job, etc.), if applicable.
