CATHERINE MCAULEY SCHOLARSHIP

This is an endowed scholarship established in 2006 by the Sisters of Mercy in Queensland to honor Sister Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy, and in recognition of the predecessor college McAuley College. Australian Catholic University - Catherine McAuley Scholarships in Australia are offered for bachelor's degrees in the fields of Health Sciences, Education and Arts, or Law and Business. The deadline for sending your application is 11 Mar. This scholarship is provided by Australian Catholic University (ACU) and the value of this scholarship is Partial Funding, Rs. 2,09,862 ($2,500) per annum. Eligibility

  1. The candidates applying for the Catherine McAuley Scholarship can be of any nationality.
  2. The field of study of the candidate should be Health Sciences, Education and Arts, or Law and Business.
  3. Applicants working towards any ACU undergraduate degree other than Theology are eligible.

Award & availability

Stated amount: 839,450 The scholarship is valued at up to Rs. 8,39,450 ($10,000), to be paid in installments of Rs. 2,09,862 ($2,500) per year. There is only one scholarship available.

Application

No information is available. Applicants will be required to provide the following as part of the application:

  1. A written statement of approximately 200 words outlining; a. Why you have chosen to undertake your degree? b. What do you hope to achieve with it in the future? c. How does your chosen field of study contribute to the good of society and also how you can contribute?
  2. Evidence of your involvement and/or leadership in community service through activities designed to create a more just, merciful, and sustainable world.
  3. A letter of recommendation. This can be from any of the following: a. Academic. b. Community service based.
  4. If you live (or have lived) in a rural or regional area, please provide evidence of your address (only if relevant).

Selection process

Applications are assessed based on the strength of the following criteria:

  1. Written statement.
  2. Evidence of contribution to community service.
  3. Written references.
  4. Preference will be given to Aboriginal applicants and Torres Strait Islander students, students with social and economic disadvantages, or students from rural and regional areas. Selection process Applicants will be shortlisted by the Scholarships Office and a recipient selected by the donor. Other Info Ongoing requirements To remain eligible for this scholarship, recipients are required to maintain the following each semester for the duration of the scholarship: minimum Pass grade in all units enrolled in the previous study period Other Recipients will be requested to submit an Impact Statement for the donor, explaining how the Scholarship has assisted them. The letter should be submitted to the Scholarships Office no later than 1 October each year.
