CALGARY NATHAN SHAIR MEMORIAL BURSARY

Calgary Nathan Shair Memorial Bursary is a financial aid provided by the University of Calgary to its undergraduate students registered under the Schulich School of Engineering. Students entering their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of the engineering degree at the University of Calgary are eligible. 1. Calgary Nathan Shair Memorial Bursary amount is up to 3000 CAD. 2. Three awards are distributed under Calgary Nathan Shair Memorial Bursary. 3. Selection is based on the student’s academic merit and the financial need to pursue the degree. The aim of the award is to provide financial help to academically average students who showcase a varied range of skill sets and possess leadership qualities, striving to become well-rounded engineers. Eligibility

Students must be either in their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of a degree at Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary are eligible. In addition to that, they must meet the eligibility requirements listed below to be eligible.

  1. Both domestic and international students are eligible.
  2. A minimum GPA of 2.60 is required to be eligible.
  3. Completed a minimum of 24 units of academic course work;
  4. Involved in extracurricular activities, demonstrating a well-rounded personality.
  5. Showcase a financial need, demonstrated through the online application.

Award & availability

Stated amount: 251,887 Calgary Nathan Shair Memorial Bursary is offered to students entering the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year of study at the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary. An award amount of up to $3000 is given to 3 students by the University of Calgary who demonstrate leadership qualities and showcase the potential to become well-rounded, practical and successful engineers. Application

No Separate Application or Fee is Required to get the scholarship, it will be automatically considered, once you enrolled for the program. Students admitted at the University of Calgary and entering in 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of UG study are eligible for Calgary Nathan Shair Memorial Bursary. Candidates must an external application to be considered for the same. Step I: Access Student Centre in myUofC portal available at the University of Calgary Official website. Step II: In the Student Centre section, click on the "My Financials" page. Step III: Click on the Awards & Scholarships section, and click on "Apply for Undergraduate Award"s. Step IV: A pop-up window will open on the screen with a number of applications for the different scholarships. Choose Calgary Nathan Shair Memorial Bursary application. Step V: Complete all the details of the online scholarship application and submit the same.

Selection process

After the submission of the application for the Calgary Nathan Shair Memorial Bursary, applicants will be shortlisted by a panel of selectors at the University of Calgary. Selection for the recipients of the bursary will be based on the following factors :
