Every year American Society for Interior Designers (ASID) offers ASID Foundation Legacy Scholarships to undergraduate and graduates commencing studies in the field of interior designing. Valid in the majority of universities abroad.

Eligibility

The Legacy Scholarship is open to all students in their junior or senior year of undergraduate study enrolled in at least a three-year accredited program of interior design.

Stated amount: 335,486 The scholarship program offers 4000 USD (3,35,076.60 Indian Rupee) to the chosen recipients. No information available

Both undergraduate and graduate students are required to submit the ASID Foundation Legacy Scholarships application form. However, the scholarship application requirements vary for UG and PG applicants. ASID Legacy Scholarship Application Requirements for UG:

  8. 1000-word personal essay on “The ASID Foundation believes that interior design positively transforms environment in ways that improve human outcomes. As an interior designer, how will you embrace and advance the professional trend to positively impact health and well-being in your anticipated area of design practice?”
  9. Proof of enrollment and previous academic transcripts
  10. Letter of Recommendation
  11. Biographical essay
  12. Headshot

Selection process

  1. The ASID foundation selects the candidate on the basis of merit which includes the academic record, portfolio, essay written by the applicant, and letters of recommendation.
  2. The design portfolio and the essay are able to tell a lot about the applicant’s past and future vision and the selection committee is basically interested in the person who is committed and has a passion for interior designing. A person who is not only thinking of rising himself through the subject area but is also having the capability to give something to it, is most likely the most suitable candidate for the scholarship.
  3. The decision of scholarship is conveyed by the foundation within 4-6 weeks.
