ASHOKA UNIVERSITY - DISTRICT DEVELOPMENT FELLOWSHIP

Applications are invited for the District Development Fellowship. The District Development Fellowship is a distinct collaboration between the Government of Punjab and Ashoka University. It has been designed to provide a platform for young professionals to contribute to the strategic planning, training, and capacity building of stakeholders, and ground-level implementation of interventions while also conducting research and documentation of state initiatives in Punjab. Up to 23 outstanding young men and women with a significant record of achievement and with strong promise would be inducted as District Development Fellows. This fellowship offers young professionals an opportunity to work with the Department of Governance Reforms and Public Grievances, Punjab, and use their skills to create social impact. Eligibility

  1. You have a bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of work experience OR you have a postgraduate degree or diploma in any discipline.
  2. You are not more than 29 years.
  3. You hold Indian citizenship.
  4. You are proficient in both Hindi and English language, with the ability to read and write in both along with a working knowledge of Punjabi.
  5. Passion for driving development through government reforms.
  6. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within teams.
  7. Ability to adapt living and working in field conditions at the district level.
  8. Comfortable with data analytics and visualization.
  9. Previous experience in the policy and development .

Award & availability

Stated amount: 800,000 Associates will receive a stipend of Rs. 8, 00, 000 per annum, inclusive of any program-related expenses such as telephone, internet, printing, stationery, etc. Up to 23 outstanding young men and women with a significant record of achievement and with strong promise would be inducted as District Development Fellows.

Selection process

The selection process after the review of applications will be carried out in multiple rounds. Other Info Roles and responsibilities of a District Development Fellow

  1. Monitoring and supporting the key initiatives of the Department of Governance Reforms and Public Grievances, Government of Punjab.
  2. Improving transparency, efficiency, and service delivery across different schemes and departments.
  3. Facilitating coordination and dialogue between various stakeholders of the district for inter-sectoral convergence.
  4. Streamlining the district-level implementation of process re-engineering initiatives originating at the state level.
  5. Supporting Deputy Commissioners in research, adaptation, and implementation of successful administrative practices at the district level.
  6. Prepare and share regular progress updates (monthly and weekly) with the Department of Governance Reforms and the Programme Team.
