ARTHUR F. CHURCH MECHANICAL ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP

Arthur F. Church Mechanical Engineering Scholarship is an entrance-based award designed for UG students admitted at the University of Waterloo. The program is applicable only to those students who will be commencing their UG degree in the university’s Faculty of Engineering. The scholarships are funded by Mr. Arthur Church, Mechanical Engineering batch BASc’76. Since funds are donated by an individual, the number of scholarships and award amounts is limited. Based on the eligibility criteria, the scholarship selection committee shortlists two students: 1. One scholarship is awarded to a student in Mechatronics Engineering and, 2. One to a student in Computer Engineering or Systems Design Engineering. Each Arthur F. Church Mechanical Engineering Scholarship recipient is awarded $5, 000 (INR 4, 19, 879). Recipients can use the scholarship reward amount for their respective undergraduate tuition and fees only. The purpose of this scholarship program is to encourage students who are exceptional in academics to attend the University of Waterloo and to provide assistance to them in scholarly pursuits. The scholarship program does not have any residency restrictions.

Eligibility

Students pursuing UG courses available under Waterloo’s Faculty of Engineering are the only ones who will be considered for Arthur F. Church Mechanical Engineering Scholarships. In addition to the choice of the academic program, applicants must fulfill the criteria given below:

  1. Academic performance
  2. Proof of residency (applicable for both domestic and international students)
  3. Completion of Admission Information Form (AIF) Note: AIF is a form that is submitted at the time of Waterloo admission applications. Through this form, the applicant is allowed to talk about themselves, their achievements, career goals, extracurricular hobbies, etc. AIF plays an important role in admission decisions.

Award & availability

Stated amount: 419,879 Arthur F. Church Mechanical Engineering Scholarships are offered to students pursuing Computer Engineering, Systems Design Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering at UG level at the University of Waterloo. There is no separate application for the scholarship and all the students pursuing these courses are considered for it. $5, 000 (INR 4, 19, 879) is given as a scholarship amount to two academically exceptional students. Application

No Separate Application or Fee is Required to get the grants, it will be automatically considered, once you enrolled for the program. Arthur F. Church Mechanical Engineering Scholarship program does not have any separate or additional scholarship application system. Selection process

  1. Recipients of Arthur F. Church Mechanical Engineering Scholarship are selected based on academic merit.
  2. Apart from that, an applicant’s performance in the Admission Information Form (AIF).
  3. Candidates who perform exceptionally well in academics as well as extracurricular activities, stand high chances of being selected for the Arthur F. Church Mechanical Engineering Scholarship.
